UPDATE: Official Statement from the Big Ten:

The writing on the wall seemed to finally come to a head this week. With the recent resurgence in COVID-19 cases across the country, talks of a modified football schedule seemed to start rearing it’s head towards the end of June/beginning of July.

Well, the Big Ten makes it official by announcing Thursday afternoon that the Big Ten will officially be playing a conference only schedule in 2020. And it won’t apply to just football either as the Big Ten will make the move to a conference only lineup for all fall sports across each university.

This seemed to be the next logical step as the resurgence of COVID-19 across the nation as states struggled with re-opening after the initial wave. It will be interesting to see the number of football games the conference decides and the potential additions to the schedule.

Stay tuned as we continue to monitor this decision and the future updates that will come with it.f

Who else in the Big Ten do you think Purdue should play again?

As Always, Boiler Up, Hammer Down, Hail Purdue!
