David Bell Named Offensive POTW

Well that didn’t take the Sophomore WR much time did it?
In a not so surprising turn of events, David Bell has been named one of the Big Ten’s Co-Offensive Player of the Week for week 1 of the 2020 football season. He is joined by Wisconsin QB Graham Mertz who tore up the Illini in their week 1 matchup. Bell earned this honor after torching the Iowa Hawkeyes to the tune of 13 receptions for 121 yards and three touchdowns, one of which was the eventual game winner.
Bell certainly enjoys playing Iowa as we saw this game bring his two Iowa game total stats to 26 receptions for 318 yards and 4 touchdowns.
This marks Bell’s first offensive player of the week award after 4 freshman of the week awards in 2019, including be named the Freshman of the year in the league, Freshman All-American, and honorable mention All-Big Ten as well.
It looks like David Bell is set to resume his play from last year, and it will be even more fun once Rondale Moore returns to the field as well.
Either way, congratulations David, we know you’re just getting started!
As always, Boiler Up, Hammer Down, Hail Purdue!
