Well, it was a rocky road we traveled the last few weeks but as of September 16th in the year of our Lord 2020. Big Ten Football is back! In an announcement made this morning by the Big Ten, the Presidents and Chancellors voted to resume football with a planned start date of October 24th. This decision comes with new advancements in testing as well as revamped testing and safety precautions.

Needless to say, this is welcome news after weeks of uncertainty surrounding the original decision made by the conference. We saw protests not only by players, but the families and fans alike petitioning the conference to reconsider their decision on postponing the 2020 season. With no response coming, eyes turned to social media where rumors and unverified individuals and sources alike were heralded as prophets, reporting news and announcements that never came. This led to more frustration at the lack of transparency by the leaders of the conference.
That being said, with the news coming this morning that the conference may have been a little hasty in their decision to postpone the season, I’m sure I’m not alone in being excited that the season is back on!
Twitter reassures my point. And I’ll leave this here. LET’S PLAY FOOTBALL BABY!
It was always going to be a weird season, but at least it will be a weird season with Purdue football!
As Always, Boiler Up, Hammer Down, Hail Purdue!
