Purdue finally learned when they will be playing on the first weekend of the season as the Big Ten finally announced the times for the first weekend slate of games.

The Boilermakers avoid the noon slot as Rutgers v MSU gets that honor. So Purdue and Iowa will follow the Scarlet Knights and Spartans game but air before the chosen night game of Maryland at Northwestern. How Purdue/Iowa doesn’t bump that game is beyond me, but here we are.

Purdue’s first game can’t come soon enough as fans have been clamoring for football ever since the conference announced the reinstatement of the fall football schedule. There, as of right now and the foreseeable future, won’t be any fans in the stands which will be a little disappointing. That being said, I will gladly take some football with no fans over no football at all.

Either way, I’ll be tuned in, butt planted on the couch watching Rondale Moore and David Bell haul in passes all night turning the Iowa secondary into mush happily. October 24th can’t come soon enough.

As always, Boiler Up, Hammer Down, Hail Purdue!
